Home Delivery!

Recently I took a trip out to CT to deliver a wing recliner to Cheryl, one of our prim customers!
Well, her room was just wonderful!
I snapped a few pics during this impromtu home shoot so you could see too!
(Jo, I am headed to your house next !!!)
She bought the loveseat, the recliner, the footstool, and the wing chair from us!
Thank You Cheryl!

I, of course, had to nose around and check out the rest of the house, and absolutely fell in love with her closet doors! I want to do this at our new home! We'll see.....that "honey-do" list is getting long!
I loved how Cheryl decorates~
I loved the look, very clean, and everything in its place.

Fall Home Photo Shoot

It's back to school time, and with that comes our favorite time of year!
Recently we were invited to the Attleboro, MA home of
Steve and Dawn G.!
They were so hospitable, offering coffee and homemade zucchini bread upon our arrival....although, by the time our GPS thingamagig got us lost, I could have used a shot of whiskey in that coffee....: )
But it all turned out well after Dawn got us on the right road!
And what a beautiful, picture perfect home!
Dawn incorporates alot of vintage photos and memorabilia from her ancestors....
Be sure to check out the old Halloween photo and the framed antique wedding gloves.
You'll also notice that we took a close up pic of a bird which was hand carved by Dawn's Dad,
Ray Tameo. It was exquisite! If you would like to check out more of his work, there is an upcoming bird and wildlife woodcarving show in Bristol, RI on October 18th hosted by The Audubon Society.

Here is the link to Steve and Dawns' home.....enjoy the show!http://www.photoshow.com/watch/KW5SB4vf
If you would like your home featured in a
Brown & Hopkins Photo Shoot,
drop us an email......
Not only will you receive lots of compliments,
you'll also receive a $50 gift certificate
towards any purchase of $100 or more at Brown & Hopkins!

Jill M's Quaint Home in Foster

We are like the paparazzi!
We shot another home last week!

You are going to love the clever attention to detail in every nook and cranny.
Lots of natural light,
great woodwork by a local craftsman,
and Jill's attention to detail in her decorating, keeping things simple, yet sophisticated made this a fantastic home shoot!
We hope our home shoots help give you ideas on how to decorate your own home.
Enjoy the show! Click the link below!
Please leave a comment and let us know how you liked it!

P.S. It took me two days to produce the show, as the website was having technical difficulties. Please keep trying if you also experience the same and please let me know if you have trouble. Thanks!

Visit the Picture Perfect Patriotic Home of Terri R!

Terri R. of North Smithfield says there is just something about "red" that makes her happy.
We really enjoyed our visit with her, and although the day was rainy, she has so much natural light in her home, that you would have never known!
You can tell that family are an important part of her life.....lots of great photos surrounded by signs and more!
Her hubby is a fireman and a great woodworker. In fact many of the cupboards were made by him and painted by Terri! Her back porch rockers were painted using our Olde Century paint in the color of "thistle". Her downstairs bathroom walls were finished in a faux painting technique which we show on some of the walls at Brown & Hopkins. If you would like to learn more about this spackle and glazing process, just ask us!

Meanwhile, click on the link below and enjoy the show!

Visit The Home of Nancy W!

Join us as we showcase the cozy and rustic home of Nancy W. of Hope, RI
The view was just gorgeous, as were the room displays!
Nancy tells us she loves the quilts, braided rugs and lamps she has purchased from Brown & Hopkins! And we loved how she leaves her dining room table set up with our placemats and a beautiful centerpiece.....
To top off the afternoon we enjoyed homemade cherry pie and
coffee (in her B & H mugs!).....it was delightful!
Thanks again Nancy!

The Tavern On Main ~ Photo Shoot

I am just loving my camera.....you might say I am dangerous with it!

Recently we approached a local restaurant establishment, located just a hop, skip and a jump down the street from Brown & Hopkins, with the proposal of re-decorating their walls!
The Tavern On Main (formerly The Stagecoach Tavern) was taken over by new management a while back and it is fabulous! However, their decor was a bit sparse and some of it needed rearranging. The life of a restaurateur is a time consuming one, to say the least, and so the decor was put on the back burner while they concentrated on creating an extensive menu and believe me, it is receiving rave reviews! Make sure you try the Baked Macaroni & Cheese as well as the Parmesan Encrusted Chicken and succulent Prime Rib! Since, The Tavern On Main has been around for a couple hundred years and then some,we took the liberty of providing a patriotic and historical sampling of decorative items to adorn their walls. All items are available for purchase at the restaurant and at our shop! We hope to see you soon! If you would like to learn more about The Tavern On Main, you may visit their website! Be sure to click on the history page for a ghost siting!

It's Hunting Season at Brown & Hopkins!

And we are looking to "shoot" your home......errr, let me explain....

We are currently looking for people who
love decorating in the country style,
and who will invite us into their homes,
so that we may take photos of their displays to showcase on the blog.
Of course, we will be looking to feature items that
you purchased at Brown & Hopkins,
so be sure to take some photos of those displays to show us!
We have two homes set up for the spring and are now seeking
others for the summer, fall and winter.

Please email a few photos of your home to
shopkeeper@brownandhopkins.com for consideration.
We would love to photograph all entries,
but due to time constraints, it just isn't possible.

If your home is selected,
you will receive a
$50 Brown & Hopkins
Gift Certificate!

And if you are a Key Tag member, you will be able to say,
"I got punched and shot at Brown & Hopkins!"

Oh, and please, don't feel like you have to clean til the cows come home,
after all, dust is just a country accent!
I like to say...."It's okay to write in the dust,
just please don't date it!"
Of course, if you want to clean,
we recommend the
Original Beeswax Furniture Polish! : )
